Saturday of Metrocon was absolutely amazing. My best con experience I've had thus far. x]
We arrived at noon, and assembled our group of around 10 people, all who were friends from school. xD Such awesome people, I swear. They really made my day. Honestly, going with a group of friends to a convention really makes the whole experience ten times greater. =]
For the majority of the morning, we walked around the convention center looking for uhm, cosplayers and whatnot. xD Took so many rest breaks throughout the day; I wouldn't have made it without them, lol. >>;
Stopped for drinks like 4 times and visited Starbucks and the Embassy Hotel twice, even though we didn't have a room there. xD
Ended up getting separated countless amounts of times over the course of the day (a few on purpose, lol), but our handy dandy cell phones proved incredibly useful. Saturday was most definitely the most I have ever used my cell phone before. I pretty much pulled it out every five minutes, and sent over 100 texts throughout the day.
Watched Mark Hildreth and Abney Park perform, and I also stayed for ArcAttack and some of the rave. ArcAttack was so amazing. O_O I'm totally a fan now, and I'm looking forward to seeing them live again, someday. >_< Here is one video I took of them Saturday night.
So all together, I spent 14 hours at Metrocon Saturday. From 12 A.M. - 2 A.M. xD; Though it didn't feel like it was that long, since I had so much fun. ^^
~Sunday~
I was already absolutely exhausted from the 14 hours I'd been at Metro the day before, and unfortunately for me, I had only gotten about 4 hours of sleep Saturday night. I still had to wake up early to get to Metro at 11 A.M. to catch the Chess Match and such. >>;
So I ended up feeling slightly sick, extremely exhausted, and absolutely dead for the most of the day...which sucked. Plus, I was alone for much of the con Sunday, since my group of 3 decided to go separate ways. >_<;
After experiencing such fun on Saturday, being alone was really quite depressing. =/
Watched the AMV contest, which brightened my day, and also bought some last minute things I wanted, so it was alright.
We ended up leaving at 5 P.M. that day. Giving a total of 6 hours for Sunday.
~Final Thoughts~
Metrocon 2009 has been the absolute best Metrocon, and anime convention I had ever experienced, no doubt. =]
I actually got a nice amount of pictures, saw so many awesome cosplays, and had an overall fantastic time there. ^_^
I'm so thankful I decided to go for the full three days this year, as opposed to only going Saturday, which is what I had been doing for the past 4 years.
Oh yeah, and if I were to add up the amount of hours I spent at the Tampa Convention Center over the entire weekend, the total comes up to 27 hours. xD; That's 7 on Friday, 14 on Saturday, and 6 on Sunday.
So all in all, I'm quite satisfied.
